Have you jumped onto the air fryer bandwagon yet?
I got one a couple years ago when they were relatively new to the scene and it has been a real love story ever since.
For the, longest time, my air fryer was mostly used for roasting veggies and homemade chicken wings (both of which it does spectacularly btw) But, lately I’ve been trying to branch out and cook more things in the air fryer.
This pork chop recipe has been my first big hit, and for good reason!
There is almost ZERO mess since the breading is all done using a large zip top bag, and the air fryer basket can go straight into the dishwasher. It is SUPER fast to prepare making it the perfect supper for busy weeknights. And, most importantly, it’s delicious!

I used some pretty basic seasonings, but you could easily change it up with your favorites. I think using ranch or taco seasoning in place of the ones I have listed would be phenomenal and I plan on trying one of those the next time I make this.

Want to bake them in the oven?
If you don’t have an air fryer, you can bake these in the oven at 350 degrees F for about 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through. The time may vary depending upon how thick your chops are. I also like to bake them on a baking rack to prevent the bottoms from getting soggy, but you can get away without that.
Other breading options:
- Crushed pork rinds are another great, low carb alternative to the almond flour in this recipe. You can even mix it up some more by trying some flavored pork rinds.
- If you aren’t counting carbs you can substitute the almond flour for panko breadcrumbs.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb boneless pork chops
- 1/3 cup Almond Flour
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning
- 1 tsp Paprika
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 360 degrees F
- Meanwhile, combine all ingredients EXCEPT pork chops into a large ziplock bag.
- Place the pork chops into the bag, seal it, and then shake to coat the pork chops.
- Remove from the bag and place in the air fryer in a single layer. Cook for 8-12 minutes depending upon the thickness of your pork chops.

Do you think potato starch could be used in place of almond flour?
I’ve never used potato starch so I am not really sure. I would maybe try it with just one pork chop first and see how it goes. If you do, let me know how it turns out!
Don’t use potato starch if you are on keto. Lots of carbs. Try coating with mustard and putting the chops in a bag with ranch dressing powder. You will be amazed.
This recipe turned out amazing! My family will be making this on repeat!
So glad that you all liked it! Thanks for the review 🙂
Tony Chachere is not always GF. There are some alternative Cajun spices that areGF
This sounds good. I’m going to try with bone-In pork chops tonight
Thank you! Let me know how it goes 🙂
Mine did not turn out crispy and brown. Any ideas what I may have done wrong? First air fryer attempt.
My best guess is that you may need to turn up the temp on your air fryer a little. If that doesn’t work, try spritzing them with a little olive oil before air frying and that should help as well.
If you try it again let me know how it goes!
I made this today, my birthday. It’s a winner! My family loved it. Only thing, I put 370 in the air fryer oven and cooked it first for 15 minutes and then 10 more minutes. But overall, this recipe is a winner…so yummy..I will make it again in Christmas.
Thanks for sharing
This recipe with pork rijnds makes them SO crispy, with the almond flour and parm cheese- not so much! The pork rind recipe my entire family was in AWE OVER!!! IT WAS CRAZY GOOD with Tonys, Paprika, and garlic powder!
Can I use coconut flour instead of almond?
Coconut flour doesn’t work quite as well for me, since it is so absorbent it’s hard to get it really crispy without drying out the pork chops too much
Made this tonight and it was yummy! Used Cajun seasoning in stead of creole and added McCormick’s pink Himalayan salt and herb blend.
My husband usually isn’t a fan of my “diet” food, but he told me to keep this recipe. Came out crispy, moist and evenly cooked! I used homemade ranch seasoning which gave it a great flavor. Keep these family friendly recipes coming 🙂
Can I just use regular flour?
Regular flour won’t crisp up like the almond flour, but you could sub panko!
I made these for dinner tonight and these were the best pork chops I’ve made yet. My chops were bigger so I cooked them longer in my air fryer. I definitely will make these again. Thanks for a great recipe!
Thanks for the great review Rebekah! Glad you enjoyed them!
Can you use plain pork rinds instead of flour.?
Yep, that’s what I used tonight! Actually I used spicy ones. The whole family loved them. I did have to cook them about twice as long as indicated, but I used really thick chops.
This recipe sounds fantastic and I am anxious to try it. I do have one question. Under NOTES it states 2g carbs. It also says 1 net carb and under nutrition it says Carbohydrates 0g. Please clarify.
Hi Sandra! This recipe has 2g of total carbs per pork chop, and 1g of Fiber which makes 1 Net Carb. Net carbs are calculated by the total carbs minus the fiber, sorry for any confusion, hope that helps!
Have you tried this with bone-in pork chops?
I haven’t but I’m sure that it would work fine 🙂 You may need to adjust the cooking time a little bit, but otherwise, the recipe would be the same
This is so delicious! Easy to make and something my entire family loved. Thanks for sharing!
We loved this but im wondering if it would be good with chicken as well.
Thank you Taylor! It is great with chicken! Check out these recipes for Fried chicken and chicken tenders for a slightly different, but similar recipe 🙂
The seasoning stays on without dipping it in egg or anything?
Yep!
Have you tried wheat flour before?
No, I haven’t, but I am fairly certain that it wouldn’t get crispy. If you aren’t concerned with keeping the carbs low, your best bet would probably be breadcrumbs – panko or regular. Hope that helps!
I hate to give this only four stars because it tasted absolutely delicious. The meat was so juicy and flavorful. Love how quick it was to prep & cook However it wasn’t the least bit crispy! And I was really looking forward to a crispy pork chop.
Hi. Sabre. I’m a single guy who likes to eat but hates having to messup the whole kitchen for just one. I made this recipe tonight. This fat boy is happy. It’s easy fast and taste great. Thanks and I can’t wait to try some of you other recipes.
I just made these and they are amazing!! I made them as a meal prep and I’m bummed they won’t stay as crispy after being in the fridge, but I will definitely make them again for my family to try!
This is one of the only recipes I have that the whole family loves!!! I omit the Parmesan to make it dairy free (I’m allergic) but they still absolutely love it. My daughter calls it “the good chicken” even though it’s pork chops, but it’s a compliment since pork chops always had a bad name in our house. Thanks!
Just FYI, if you are using the Tony’s spice, you cannot label this gluten free as they use wheat in their spice mix. It’s not safe for those suffering with celiac disease.
Tony’s creole is not gluten free!!! It’s says wheat on the ingredients list.
My husband absolutely loved these pork chops! Said this was his favorite food that I had cooked in the air fryer and told me not to lose this recipe!
I really liked the breading, although I substituted cajun seasoning with the creole since it’s what I have. I also lightly seasoned my pork chops with salt and pepper prior to putting it in the breading mix. The pork chops came out pretty pale from the air fryer but I didn’t want to cook it to death. So I ended up pan frying it for a couple of minutes on each side to give it a nice brown. It turned out beautiful and delicious. Will definitely make it again although I may opt to just bake it instead for next time.
I made these for dinner last night, and they were delicious. Super quick and easy too.
